A few weeks prior to Christmas of 2014, LdM held a celebration of Christmas the Mercato Centrale. Since one third of the world’s countries have representation at LdM, the school decided to highlight the various Christmas traditions of those countries. As a result, LdM choose six countries (USA, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, The Philippines and Australia).
Each country would set up a both with a traditional Christmas dish as well as activities for the children. Each visitor was given a “passport” page and when they got stamps from all six countries they were able to enter the LdM Cucina. Inside the cucina were more famous Christmas dishes from the aforementioned countries.
Since Christmas is known as a time for giving, the event organizers in conjunction with LdM decided that all proceeds would go toward world-renowned Meyer Children’s Hospital.
