Piazza della Santissima Annunziata is located in the historic center of Florence, connected to Piazza del Duomo by Via dei Servi. The main attraction in this piazza is the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata , one of the most important religious buildings in Florence, as well as the parent of the ‘ Order of the Servants of Mary’ . However, you will also find the equestrian statue of Ferdinand I de ‘Medici, by Giambologna and Pietro Tacca in the center of the square. Likewise, there are two fountains of sea monsters, known as a masterpiece of Notch and Mannerist sculpture. Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, touched by some of the greatest architects of the Renaissance, took over three centuries to take it’s current, beautiful design. There are seven essential buildings attached to the piazza: Puddings Gattai Palace, Oratory of St. Francis Poor, Loggia dei Servi di Maria, Basilica of the Annunciation, National Archaeological Museum (Palace of the spreader ), Hospital of the Innocents, and the Palace of the Two Fountains.
