An exhibition at Palacio Strozzi has been celebrating the most influential 20th century artist, Pablo Picasso. Art students at Lorenzo de’ Medici were challenged to interpret the paintings of Picasso and in turn paint self portraits. The exhibition was a time for students to explain and show how they had been influenced by Picasso and Italy.
LdM students created work that developed and changed over a series of paintings; Students noticed how their mood affected their paintings just as in the paintings of Picasso. At the end students expressed that both Picasso and being surrounded by the art in Florence really allowed them to developed artistically that otherwise they would not have.
