Florence’s best kept secret… Officina di Santa Maria Novella, is 790 years old! Here you can find some of the most rare handmade perfumes and gifts made from the finest ingredients. Originated by monks in 1221, the Officina di Santa Maria Novella opened to the public in 1612. By the 19th century, it’s products had grown so popular that clients from all around the world requested goods. Still today, the fragrances, soaps and other good are made with the original high quality, artisan formulas. The building is a beautiful, sweet smelling treasure that is a must-see stop in Florence. Take a trip to the museum, which is free of charge, to see the old production workshops, antique ceramics and glass, copper and bronze artifacts. The pharmacy is located in Via della Scala 16 and is a part of the convent of Santa Maria Novella .Today it is considered to be the oldest in pharmacy historical Europe , operating seamlessly to almost 4 centuries.
