Beginning in Palazzo Vecchio and ending in San Lorenzo church; Anna Maria Luisa legacy is remembered every year on February 18 for her remarkable contribution to the city of Florence.
It was Anna Maria Luisa that made a pact in 1737 which stated that all the collections of the Medici’s that had been collected over the last 300 years must remain in the city of Florence. Anna Maria Luisa loved the arts, as did many of her predecessors. She funded arts, music, and architectural projects. Since she did not have any children, Anna Maria Luisa was the last descendant of the Medici family line. She is a very important florentine woman and not very many Medici family members are remembered the same way.
